The Franco-Arab Chamber of Commerce was established in 1970. It is submitted to the French law of organizations of 1901 and to the law of November 12th, 1956, that organize the use of the denomination of “chamber of commerce”.
The Franco-Arab Chamber of commerce is a mixed organization with an equitable representation. This chamber aims at the development of the economic relations and the industrial, financial, touristy, and agricultural cooperation between the economic operators in France and the Arab countries.

The affiliation to the Chamber is open specifically to the industrial and commercial institutions, to the banks, to the free lance professions, to the chambers for commerce and to the organizations of employers in France and in the Arab countries.
According to the rules and regulations of the Chamber, the President has to be French while the Secretary General in charge of the executive functions has to be from an Arab country. The members of the board of Directors are elected on an equal basis in an ordinary general assembly.
The activities of the Chamber cover in addition to France 22 countries members of the Arab League. These countries are: Algeria, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Comores islands, Djibouti, Arab Republic of Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Iraq, and Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya and Sultanate of Oman, Moroccan Kingdom, Mauritania, Palestine, Qatar, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia and Yemen.
